“The Voice” start to perform at Liberty Hall on April 18!
Taking a break from his time on the hit show, “The Voice”. We are so
excited to be able to bring this sneak peek to Tyler and Liberty Hall of
local talent Stevie Jo Rosenbalm. Brought to Liberty by Jaguar Artist
Promotions and Amy Fish.
Rosenbalm is a Tyler native through and through. Born right here at
Trinity Mother Frances and raised in East Texas, Stevie’s parents both
played in heavy metal bands when he was younger and he always dreamt of
making it big in music. His parents may have influenced his love for
music, but not the genre: Stevie loves to sing R&B. Music has always
been a source of inspiration for him, and he’s on “The Voice” to make
his parents’ dream a reality.
Stevie took the bold step of trying out for “The Voice” in Austin. He
said, “I was nervous that day, too. I got a callback. Then I got another
callback. There are some hoops you’ve really got to jump through. But I
got there and I just couldn’t be more happy with the results.” He got
his start in music by playing drums and singing in garage rock
bands.“Drums are my first love. I just love rhythm and the drums and all
the things you can do with it. That’s what called me to R&B,
because when I was singing and playing drums. R&B vocals are packed
full of those rhythmic aspects that really intrigue me.”
Competition will remain fierce as the show advances, but Rosenbalm said
he’s been blown away by the support and reactions he’s received so far,
both from home and abroad.“I’ve been getting so much love and support
from social media. And not just social media. When I’m out in town, I’ve
had people already asking me for autographs and take pictures. My
friends are like, ‘You really deserve this.’ It’s so awesome to get the
support of the community. It makes me feel like I’m going in the right
direction.”

To escape the edict of Egypt’s Pharoah,
Rameses, condemning all newborn Hebrew males, the infant Moses is set
adrift on the Nile in a reed basket. Saved by the Pharaoh’s daughter
Bithiah, he is adopted by her and brought up in the court of her
brother, Pharaoh Seti. Moses gains Seti’s favor and the love of the
throne princess Nefertiti, as well as the hatred of Seti’s son, Ramses.
When his Hebrew heritage is revealed, Moses is cast out of Egypt, and
makes his way across the desert where he marries, has a son and is
commanded by God to return to Egypt to free the Hebrews from slavery. In
Egypt Moses’s fiercest enemy proves to be not Ramses, but someone near
to him who can ‘harden his heart’.

The
Bellamy Brothers continue to prove that the trail they’ve ridden to
fame has been as unique as their music itself—music that is now
celebrating 30 years of success.
Their first big break came in the form of the hit, “Spiders &
Snakes,” written by David and recorded by Jim Stafford. The song became a
smash hit and became the catapult that rocketed the brothers onto the
L.A. music scene. The Bellamys officially lifted off the launch pad in
1976 when their single, “Let Your Love Flow,” became an instant smash in
both the U.S. and Europe. It stayed on the international charts long
enough to build a huge international fan base.
True to their musical roots, their style and their songwriting was
moving steadily more towards their raising. By the late ‘70’s The
Bellamys emerged on the country charts with another bona fide smash. “If
I Said You Had A Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me),”
originally scrawled on a dinner napkin by David, rocketed them to the
top of the country charts. It proved to be the first of a string of
fourteen #1 singles in the U.S. alone. Success
followed success: “Dancing Cowboys,” “Sugar Daddy,” “You Ain’t Just
Whistlin’ Dixie,” “Lovers Live Longer,” “Do You Love As Good As You
Look,” “Redneck Girl,” “For All The Wrong Reasons,” “I Love Her Mind,”
“I Need More Of You,” “Old Hippie,” “Too Much Is Not Enough,” “Kids Of
The Baby Boom,” and “Reggae Cowboy” and “Crazy From The Heart,”…all have
lined the corridors of the Bellamy’s musical history and their walls
with platinum and gold.
The Bellamy Brothers hold the record
in both the Academy of Country Music (ACM) and the Country Music
Association Awards (CMA) for the most duo nominations. Numerous Grammy
nods have also been directed toward the brothers.
These days when the subject turns to touring, The Bellamys are showing a
new generation of country music how it’s done. “We’re old road dogs,”
grins Howard when asked about the motivation behind the brothers 200
plus concert dates each year. Adds David: “Our live draw is bigger than
it was in the ‘80’s. I think the same people that grew up with us and
with our music in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s obviously have raised a whole new
generation of Bellamy fans who started toddling to our music. Now
they’re turning up at our concerts as college kids, who are really
turned on and tuned in to us and our music….it’s a great feeling.”

Just in
time for Mother’s Day, Liberty Hall brings you “Steel Magnolias”,
starring Sally Fields and Julia Roberts. The story revolves around
Truvy’s Beauty Parlor in a small parish in Louisiana. It is the story of
a close-knit circle of friends whose lives are intertwined. As the
picture opens, we find Drum Eatenton shooting birds in the trees of his
back yard in preparation for his daughter’s wedding reception that
afternoon. Shortly thereafter, M’Lynn and Shelby (Drum’s wife and
daughter) depart for Truvy’s to get their hair done for the wedding.
“Just the sweetest thing,” Annelle Depuy Desoto joins Truvy’s as the new
“glamour technician.” While in the chairs, the sour-tempered Ouiser
Boudreaux shows up and entertains the assemblage with her barbs. It
seems that the only one of the group who truly understands Ouiser is
Clairee, who is recently widowed and looking for a diversion. Filled
with humor and heartbreak, these “Steel Magnolias” make us laugh and cry
as the realities of their lives in tiny Chiquapin Parish unfolds.
Bring your mom and a box of kleenex!!
